Paris reports Sarah Bernhardt, gravely ill with kidney failure, shows slight improvement but remains near death. A funeral procession passes by her Boulevards Pereire villa as doctors fear a final decline while she insists she will live many years.
Mrs. Co. W. H. Byer of Columbus reported to Newark police the loss of a pocket book containing diamonds valued at 3,000 dollars and 92 dollars in cash from a Pennsylvania Railroad limited train en route from New York to Columbus. Officers searched the rails from Newark to Central City and back but recovered nothing.
The body of a woman believed to be Miss Adelaide Park, 32, of Bellaire, Ohio, was found in the Cuyahoga River at Cuyahoga Falls. Park disappeared from a local sanatorium on January 31 where she was a patient.
Walter K. Richards, manager of two Findlay theaters, was jailed after opening his houses despite a court case and mayoral order. He and six theater operators faced charges tied to disobeying the Sunday closure law as Ohio courts heatedly consider review.
The steamship Glendaruel reports trouble five miles east of Cape Cod and the coast guard cutter Acushnet sails from Woods Hole to assist. The Rev. R. B. McDaniel, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Martin's Ferry Ohio, collapsed and died in the pulpit during services. Death was due to heart disease. He had just finished a ten day evangelistic campaign at the Third Baptist Church in Dayton.

Kokomo Indiana March 25 Lieu tenant Gilbert T Baker of Franklin Indiana and Private Earl Thornburg of Whittier California were burned to death today when their aircraft caught fire during takeoff at Fagley Field. A gust of wind tipped the plane causing a wing to puncture the gas tank and the craft exploded into flames. Spectators could not free the aviators who were trapped beneath the machine.
Five hundred attendees in New York paid homage to John Drew as an artist and man on his fiftieth anniversary on stage. Stereopticon reels traced his career from Arch Street Theater in 1872 to today, with tributes from Learned Hand and other notables. Ethel Barrymore presented a gold plaque as actresses personified the Muses offered praise and Dewra spoke of the gala day.
Miss Debra Angell heiress to the Gates estate estimated at 38 million dollars plans marriage to Lester Norris son of a St Charles undertaker and Angell’s childhood sweetheart. Reports from R F Angell say Norris arrived in Los Angeles en route to the wedding this week.
In Wexford County Ireland on March 25 a military patrol heading to Enniscorthy was ambushed at Kyle. Four Irregulars were killed and three Free Staters wounded in the hour long engagement. Lt Jones Sgt O Gorman and Pte Horan were captured at Palace East and executed at Adagmistown.
Dublin report says General Bofin known as the Irish Dewey has been captured by Free State troops operating from Sligo. He headed a large force of irregulars with a stronghold in the Arigna Mountains County Cavan. Rebels previously escaped last February during a prior operation.
Mrs Muriel MacSwiney widow of Terrence MacSwiney told delegates at the American Association For the Recognition of the Irish Republic convention in Columbus Ohio that the Irish Free State is free only in name. She argued the Governor General under the current system is just another viceroy and no real change has occurred in Irish status while vowing continued struggle until full freedom is achieved.
A new method at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital photographs the brain without harming the patient. Doctors Fay Grant and Frazier used a cystoscope with lights inserted through a small skull opening to image a ten month old child. The procedure aims to help diagnose hydrocephalus and cerebral tumors.
Miss Hannah Neely aged 18 of Sedamsville suffered a collar bone fracture and hip and leg abrasions when the side car she rode in with Lawrence Emmons collided with an automobile at Bank and Baymiller streets. She was taken to General Hospital in serious condition. Thoroughfare damage occurred to both vehicles. Emmons and Charles P. Ryan assisted her to her feet. cause of the crash was not established.
A Kentucky farmer Charles Koehler 23 died after tying a rope and shooting himself in a barn after writing I told a big lie better off dead. In Cincinnati Miss Louise Walters 35 died after a late night illness and a self inflicted gunshot. Harry Blum 20 drank poison amid a despondent love affair and lay dying at General Hospital. Coronial inquiry underway into these intertwined suicides and medical details.
Berlin reports Germany has named Dr. Walther Schuecking as supplementary judge for the first case to be heard at the Hague International Tribunal of the League of Nations. The suit concerns whether allies had the right to seize a shipload of munitions bound for Poland through the Kiel Canal during 1920 Russo Polish hostilities. Schuecking is a Marburg University professor and pacifist writer.
