Windy Omaha Streetcar Blown Over Injuring Many

In Omaha on March 24 a street car was toppled by strong winds at Forty-seventh and Leavenworth. Conductor John Cooper and multiple passengers were seriously injured. motorman Fred Bentley leaped free as the car rolled, he was carried 200 feet and dropped into a field. About fifteen people were aboard and all sustained injuries.

Cox Blamed for Sidetrack on Green Bill in Ohio House

In Columbus on March 24 the labor coalition in the House blamed Governor Cox and administration leaders for derailing the Green bill to bar the Screen method of coal weighing for miner pay. The House killed moves to fast track the measure and pushed the Thomas resolution instead. Labor lobbies crowded the chamber as operators warned the bill would ruin their business.
