A City Hospital patient James Perry sparked a potential epilepsy cure discovery after mistaking peroxide of hydrogen for water. Doctors observed four patients improve after trials, with seizures diminished, prompting further experiments by the medical staff.
An epidemic of erysipelas among horses is linked to impure salt used on Second Street to melt ice. Veterinary experts report over 1,000 affected, with about 500 out of service and several horses shot. Mules also affected as illness spreads through stable yards and city patrol horses.

Special Dispatch reports in Madison Wisconsin on March 24 that the joint resolution for returning the battle flags to Alabama was adopted by the Senate with no votes against it.

In Cleveland a bankruptcy exam of Cassie L. Chadwick, represented by Louis J. Grossman, disclosed total indebtedness not exceeding 750000. She cited 517000 borrowed, 268000 in lender commissions, and 200000 owed to Cleveland banks.
Fire in a basement paper bin gutted the Columbus Dry Goods Company store on North High street causing extensive damage to a four story business block and a six story apartment house. Four firemen injured while rescuing a dozen overtime millinery workers. Loss estimated at about 200000. residents cheered as rescuers carried semi conscious workers to safety.
In Brooklyn a mob of about 2000 attacked motorman James McCauley and a conductor after child Frederick Von Gilder, 4, was killed by a streetcar on Park Avenue. Police rescued them as the crowd clashed, while the boy’s mother, Mrs. Robert Von Gilder, fainted and was injured.
Forty workers at the American Tobacco Factory in Owensboro Kentucky went on strike today in the tying room. They currently earn thirty five cents per hundred for restitching tobacco and demand a five cent increase.
