Oil City Pa March 23 flood fears linger as ice gorges move down the Allegheny River toward Oil City and Franklin. Officials warn that a new jam could flood Oil Creek again, while open water may ease pressures if the gorges break up. Businesses remain closed and residents displaced as ice movements race downstream.
Pittsburgh March 23 United States Army engineer Lieutenant John Paul Dean warned that within twenty four hours Oil City faces the most disastrous flood in its history after surveying the area. He said thinning ice above Oil City would be carried out by recent rains.

At a gate the party failed to open, the Prince rode ahead clearing a seven foot hedge with help from his horse. Soon after he repeated the feat on another high hedge with only inches to spare. The fox ultimately escaped.
New York police arrested the seventh member of the Whittemore gang connected to a January diamond robbery worth 170000. William J. Ankelbach of Cleveland admitted aiding the theft and used his roommate as a human shield during arrest. Detectives traced baggage from Cleveland and found narcotics valued at 1000 in the apartment.
The Street Railway Company seeks city assistance to repave and reconstruct tracks on nineteen streets at a total project cost of 704 774 during 1926. Ten streets overlap with planned resurfacing, with proposed city cost sharing on interim sections to fit the budget.

A fifth passenger was injured fatally, including Irwin Sherman 40, Regina Sherman 13, John Sherman 75, and Mrs. David Temple 30. Mrs. Irwin Sherman 38, injured with two broken legs, may recover. Mrs. Sherman and Mr. Sherman had just attended a funeral and picked up the elder Sherman and Regina.
