Mrs Jen n ie Hexter 73 widow of Selig Hexter was crushed to death when two autos collided at Reading road and Windham avenue near Kroger's store. Her daughter Emma Bingsanger fainted as rescuers rushed to aid. Dr. Edwin Landy failed to save Mrs Hexter.
Washington dispatch reports Congress lines up to discuss wedding presents for Miss Eleanor Wilson and Miss Margaret Wilson as engagements spread. Some lawmakers back a fund similar to the Jessie Sayre gift, while Rep Gray denounces state involvement in a White House wedding.

Body to be sent to Chicago for burial.
The Aero Club of America may choose Oakland, Portland, or St. Louis as the starting site for the national balloon race next July. Oakland offers 3500 dollars, Portland 3000 dollars, with St. Louis' bid undisclosed. The international event will use Kansas City as start, with two pilots from the national race to advance. Ralph H. Upson, last year’s international winner, is set to participate with a new balloon. German and other foreign flyers, led by Hans Berliner and Hugo Kaulen, are among announced entrants.
A llama presented to Secretary of State Bryan by the Mayor of Buenos Aires arrived on the steam ship Verdi from South American ports. Bryan had requested a llama for his Nebraska farm. The animal was inspected by J F Horne of the Bureau of Animal Industry and found to have foot and mouth disease, so it could not be landed.
Special Dispatch to Commercet a New York March 15 claim of Ella Evans of Los Angeles that she is Dorothy Arnold who disappeared from home in 1910 was described as pure nonsense by Francis R Arnold the missing girl’s father. John Keith attorney for Mr Arnold said a letter from an Los Angeles attorney offered no clearer hope and police alarms remain active with confidence of contact if Miss Arnold were found.
A general forward move by both Federal and rebel forces began at Torreon as Villa ordered the advance. Early skirmishes favored the Federals, but later reports said the rebels won in minor engagements. A special effort to bring Angeles to command artillery preceded further operations.
Emily Splawn O'Dell, recently freed on a bad check charge, claimed to be Dorothy Arnold of New York. Her husband Charles said the story was a product of mental disorder. Detective Zeigler confirmed she is from a Los Angeles family and had never been to New York.
A 14 year old boy James Hughes was brought to the Lexington Courthouse in heavy chains by order of his mother who feared escape. He faces incorrigibility charges and will be sent to reform school. The mother insisted on keeping him chained.
The Duke of the Abruzzi reports to the Navy that William Marconi achieved strong results on the Regina Elena battle ship with a new radio telephonic apparatus. Communication reached ships up to forty five miles away and thirteen miles with land between. Uninterrupted twelve hour telephonic links were maintained. Experiments in wireless telegraphy connected Rome and Venice and distant locations including Clifden, Canada, and Rome multiple times the farthest stretch.
A March hurricane in Kuban Southern Russia caused telegraph failure and delayed reports of at least 1500 lives lost from a tidal wave from the Sea of Azov. Unusual dust storms near Baku disrupted railway traffic and the skies over Tiflis turned yellow with fog and snowfall.
A terrific gale and the highest tide of the year hit Normandy and Brittany causing great havoc. In the Bay of Saint-Michel the tide was the strongest in forty years as waves dashed against the shore, alarming residents along the coast.
