Federals defeat larger rebel force at Naco

In a three hour battle near Naco Arizona the Federals under Ojeda with fewer than 500 troops repelled nearly 1,000 state troops. Huerta forces pushed the rebels back five miles toward the border as U.S. cavalry and a missing American doctor observed the clash and wounded deputy marshal A. Hopkins reported.

A blizzard tragedy in South Dakota ends with the Perry family found dead near Box Elder Creek. Leslie Perry, found wandering dazed, sought his parents A F Perry and siblings aged 8 to infant. The family had trekked from Big Bend toward MilIon Freazen’s ranch when they perished in the storm.

Prof Edward N Reser an art instructor at Commercial High School Brooklyn testified in New York City before Justice Kelly that his 1910 marriage to Frances M Cooke Reser ended in discord. He sought an annulment claiming his wife loved only for home and support and that she rebuffed him and called him an old fool.

Madero Family Arrives in Gotham After Mexico President’s Death

Senora Madero widow of the late Mexican President reached New York aboard the Monterey. She wore mourning and recalled the days of her husband’s arrest and death. Mercedes Madero denounced the traitors and murderers as they traveled toward the Hotel. The party includes a sister of the late President. Continued on page 2.

Burglar's Affinity Seeks Forgiveness From Husband

Mrs. Mabel Clarkson wife of Rev Nestor Clarkson a Chicago missionary who ran away with burglar Owen Conn arrives in Chicago seeking reconciliation. She claims she collaborated on missionary work and designed the uniforms but admits faults and stalemates in their marriage. The husband was not at the station and authorities released her in Milwaukee. Chicago police were not pursuing charges.

New York Robbers Stage Day of Holdups Across City

In Harlem three men in a taxi robbed cafe owner Bert Newman of a leather satchel containing laundry cash. On the Lower West Side five youths looted a trolley conductor of $8. Green Point gunmen stole $65 and three watches from three men. An East Side homeowner was robbed of jewelry after an assault. Four offenders and a woman total. Detectives arrested two suspects with victim identifications, and later Martin De Matio and wife Grace were ordered as suspects.

Discovery of Germs of Infantile Paralysis Shocks Johns Hopkins

Baltimore March 15 Doctor Simon Flexner of the Rockefeller Institute announced at Johns Hopkins Medical School that he isolated and propagated the germs of infantile paralysis. He said no antidote yet but hinted a possible vaccine. The finding was shown with tissue and monkey experiments and discussed by Johns Hopkins faculty.
