Chinese reports say the second Japanese squadron with about 30 000 soldiers sails for China, bringing total Japanese forces in Manchuria Shantung Tianjin and Hankow to around 60 000. Troops reportedly shift as routine, with possible retention of current garrisons to pressure China amid outstanding demands.
Mrs. Florence Mayo of Scranton declares she is the undivorced wife of Virginius J. Mayo, head of the Mayo Radiator Company. She seeks $200,000 damages for desertion and plans to pursue a divorce action amid similar allegations surrounding Mayo and a Brooklyn-born woman known as Mrs. James Dudley. The report ties to a related case involving a former filing clerk transported from Brooklyn to New Haven.
The British Admiralty reports extensive losses from German submarines and mines on English and French coasts. He marked his fiftieth anniversary as a White House attache last January and served five presidents with noted devotion and recollections of key moments in U.S. history.
A Honolulu mass meeting demanded in a cabled message to Peking that Japan’s demands on the Chinese Republic be refused even if war follows. The event reflected strong antiJapanese sentiment and calls for firm resistance amid rising tensions.

Berlin reports Count and Countess Brandenstein Zeppelin have a son. The Countess is Count Zeppelin's daughter, inventor of the Zeppelin airship. Upon marriage the King of Württemberg granted Baron Von Brandenstein the title of Count and the surname Brandenstein Zeppelin, ensuring the Zeppelin name endures in a male line.
Torpedo boat destroyers Drayton and McDougal arrived from Guantanamo to guard lower New York Harbor to deter belligerent ships. The Mohawk fired blank shots at the John D Archbold to halt the vessel while a navy tug boarded for inspection amid ongoing neutrality duty discussions with Boston and Brooklyn naval officials.
The armored cruiser Brooklyn left the navy yard for an anchorage in Boston Harbor to prevent the departure of any steamships that would violate neutrality laws. Seven German vessels are interned there though not bound to stay. The government seeks proper clearance for any departures to avoid arming belligerents.

Three American Cardinals will participate in the opening ceremonies of the twenty fifth anniversary of the Catholic University of America on April 15. Cardinal Farley of New York will celebrate the pontifical mass, Cardinal Gibbons of Baltimore will preach the sermon, and Cardinal O Connell of Boston will deliver the opening address. Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Bonzano will also take part. President G Stanley Hall of Clark University will represent the Association of American Universities and President Cavanaugh of Notre Dame will speak for the Catholic institutions of learning.
London reports heavy disease in Serbia with scarce updates on the Serbian army. Nish overcrowded with the sick and dying as hospitals fail, and epidemics of abdominal typhus spotted fever and dysentery claim thousands of lives including sixty three physicians.
German officials expect repudiation of the Prinz Witel Friedrich action that sank the William P. Frye and will make reparations for ship and cargo losses. The United States and Germany agree on feeding neutral shipments to civilians in belligerent zones, so no dispute over cargo transit is anticipated. Count Bernstorff, the German ambassador, after a State Department visit, indicated that he would pursue this course.
