W. E. Hutton & Co. reported American Products Company stock offerings were about ten times oversubscribed due to space shortages and high demand for special products. American Home Products Company shares also oversubscribed about ten times with Cincinnati brokers allotting roughly ten percent.

Baldwin Company Offers 2.2 Million Ten-Year Gold Notes

Securities offerings disclose Baldwin Company issuing 2,200,000 ten-year gold 5 percent notes dated February 15 with Fifth Third National Bank as offerings agent and First National Bank as trustee. They refund 1,800,000 three-year 6 percent notes and are payable or part payable through February 25 for new notes. The new notes will be listed on the Cincinnati Stock Exchange.

White Motor directors propose stock dividend and capital raise

Directors of the White Motor Company voted to pay a 20 percent stock dividend and seek to raise authorized capital from 25 million to 50 million. A special meeting in Cleveland on February 27 will seek approval. Stockholders of record March 10 will receive the dividend. $10 million more will be offered at $50 a share for subscription. The remainder awaits future needs.

Plans for Five for One Split at United Light and Power

Stockholders will vote March 8 at a special meeting on increasing authorized Class A common stock from 500000 to 3500000 shares and Class B from 500000 to 2500000 shares. Both classes will participate in the stock split with new shares issued.

Directors ratify oil concession in Venezuela

Directors of the Mexican Panuco Oil Company ratified the acquisition of a 1,150,000 acre concession in the Lara and Trujillo states in Venezuela. The area lies near holdings of Cities Service Sun Oil Royal Dutch and British controlled fields. Howard Willets was elected President Zeth Low Vice President and William B. Lewis Treasurer.

Pure Oil starts casing head plant at Cushing Oklahoma

Construction begins on a casing head gasoline plant at Cushing with a daily capacity of 16,000,000 cubic feet. Gas supplied from nearby oil field. At full output the plant will produce about 8,000 gallons of high test gasoline daily.

February business improves but orders fall short of December

The Iron Age notes new February business rising from January while the steel corporation runs near 90 percent of last week’s operations. Overall activity is slightly lower, with orders steady but below December levels, prompting production gauging to protect prices.
