Leo Castle an 11 year old from Alberta walked a ten inch wide girder 150 feet above Niagara Rapids between Canada and the United States. He began on the Canadian side after being barred for lacking $8 head tax. Immigration officials watched as he completed the perilous crossing and was later detained and returned to Canada.

Saybrook Ohio march 9 roast chicken and tender pork chops were free for people living on the outskirts of the town today. A Nickel Plate train carrying fifteen cars of hens and swine was wrecked late last night and dozens of animals escaped. Many animals were killed in the wreck believed caused by a broken rail. None of the train crew injured.
Mrs. Edward Lee, 55, of 3401 Lincoln Avenue Latonia died after a house fire caused by electric wires. The coroner cited fright from the incident and a weak heart as the death cause. Her husband, a railroad employee, and daughter Clara survive. The fire department extinguished the blaze. the loss was small.

Governor Smith urged NYC police to help, Hackett offered a $1000 reward. authorities suspect mental imbalance rather than ransom motive.
Edward Semones was killed when the machine he drove crashed into a street car in Portsmouth Ohio. Miss Agnes James his niece was injured and a baby held by Miss James escaped injury. the infant's mother Mrs Ethel Crawford Counts and another passenger were not harmed.
