In a special election a total of 56 085 ballots were cast with 23 091 for and 32 494 against. The majority opposed the measure by 8 903 votes. Political figures and local boards did not publish further details in this brief.

Berlin March 10 Wilmersdorf suburban town votes to issue potato tickets to conserve supplies. It becomes the first town to adopt the method, allowing twenty two pounds per person weekly to ration the staple.
