Wabash Indiana March 9 about eight o clock lightning struck the US of Henry Scott south of the Sy. killing two valuable horses in the barn. Two cows in the stable were uninjured and the barn showed no visible damage from the electric shock.
Osgood Indiana reports repair work on railroad tracks with hopes that trains can passfrom Chicago to Louisville by tomorrow. Bloomfield Bedford Division traffic will take several days to restore and B&O branch into town remains unused. County’s field losses estimated near $100000.
In a blaze at Auburn Place and Canton Street Brooklyn three floors of a five story flat burned. Mrs Annie Duncan and child died. Charles Goddard age five suffocated. The infant fell into the gutter during the escape and was killed. The mother died after being taken to a hospital.
Hon. M. A. Hanna telegrams President J J Sullivan that he will not return to Cleveland in time for the Warren meeting slated for March 16. The league's session is postponed until Hanna and State Committee Chairman Charles Kurtz can attend.
In Louisville a large mixed audience at the Standard Republican Club heard speeches urging an anti lynching measure. An introductory draft for an extra session bill proposes counties liable for mob killings with damages between 2500 and 5000 dollars, to be pursued by the deceased’s widow or heirs in circuit court, with costs borne by the defendant for the benefit of the decedent’s kindred.

Boston March 9 Judge Colt sentences Thomas Mead Bram to death for the murder of Captain Charles I Nash his wife and Second Mate Blamburg aboard the bark Herbert Fuller on July 13 last. The execution is scheduled between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 18. Bram defended himself stating innocence and adding Thy will be done.
