On board U and George Washington March 8 the impression is that President Wilson will not seek fundamental alterations to the League of Nations covenant despite opposition. He has yet to consider the questions closely and continues an uneventful voyage onboard.

Ambassador Francis testified before the Senate committee that Bolshevik rule in Russia would let Germany dominate the world war outcome within ten years. He claimed German officers aided the Red forces in Northern Russia and that Bolshevik officials sought concessions from the United States similar to Brest-Litovsk.
Two youths failed a bank robbery at Yorkville in Martin's Ferry Ohio when the cashier triggered the alarm. Residents rushed the bank, surrounding the building and capturing the robbers after shots were fired.
Berlin on March 7 saw the first break in a general strike as subway, telephone, water and gas services resumed. The Berlin Federation of Labor voted 40 to 5 to call off the strike after government concessions and safety concerns. A joint Soldiers and Wer-men Council was to consider the resolution that night.
Exchange Telegraph dispatch from Copenhagen says a large number of Spartatans were captured in the center of Berlin on Friday and will be sentenced to death. Government troops now hold all public buildings squares and several factories after the fighting ended at noon Friday.
The majority Socialists pulled out of the Berlin Strike Committee after a Friday meeting where Independent Socialists and Communists proposed extending the action to gas electric and water works. The executive command of troops and talks with the government were criticized and later the majority Socialists called for ending the strike and resisting terrorism.
Dr Julius Juhlin head of the Swedish Ministry of iat flew from Washington to New York in a United States Post Office plane with a stop in Philadelphia. The trip took three hours and twenty seven minutes and he said there was no doubt the air mail service was a success and he planned to recommend its establishment in Sweden.
Paris reports 6000 Americans have married French women in the past year per Petit Journal. Most brides were country girls or employed in town establishments.
The State Department was informed that enemy governments continue to issue bank notes printed from plates obtained during occupation of Bucharest. Romania protested the action and said it would not recognize the notes' validity.
Budapest reports plans for a volunteer Hungarian army to be formed, comprising six divisions. The move signals a structured military expansion and mobilization effort within the country.
PRESSBURG March 8 The Czecho Slovak military command proclaims a state of siege throughout Slovakia after the discovery of a German Magyar plot. The move aims to forestall disorders and protect traffic according to local newspapers.
William Reilly an attorney and friend of Judge Alexander appeared before the Judge on a speeding charge. The Judge let him set his own fine and initially assessed $10, then reduced it to $5 and costs citing fairness.
General Leonard Wood warned against relying on international bodies for peace and urged universal military training. He called demobilization period the most dangerous, urged care for unemployed soldiers, and described shellshock and hardship facing veterans returning home.
Lieutenant Colonel Ruswell Deitsch likely to command about 800 colored troops in a downtown parade tomorrow. Deitsch rose from private in the Spanish American War to his current rank and earned praise for bravery in France. A committee of colored citizens led by Henry M Higgins and others organizes the entertainment and arrangements for the event.
A committee representing several women's organizations will report at a 2 o'clock Tuesday meeting at the Board of Education offices in the Denton Building after preliminary investigations into the Back to School movement.
