Emperor Nicholas summoned the Preobrajensky Regiment at Peterhof and regretfully condemned their disloyalty to the radical Parliament program. He vowed he would never wear the regiment’s uniform as government factions push dissolution of Parliament and suppression of revolutionary activity.
The Russian Emperor responds to disaffection in the Preobrajensky Life Guards by removing the battalion from the Imperial Guards roll and renaming it The Special Infantry Battalion. A bomb was thrown at Colonel Muradoff, chief of the railroad gendarmes, as he rode in a cab in Warsaw. The cabman and a accompanying gendarme were severely wounded, the Colonel slightly injured, and the horse was killed. The bomber escaped.
