Jersey City June 28 diver Frank Pojedineck was trapped in a 22 inch pipe under the Hackensack River while removing an obstruction. Motorcycle officer Jack Mahoney donned a diving suit and descended to free him. The diver's right leg was broken and his air system fouled. He was rushed to a hospital in serious condition.
