Dan R. Hanna wed Mary Stuart at the bride’s mother’s home in Cleveland. The ceremony had few witnesses and the couple will live at Hanna’s country estate near Ravenna after their return. Hanna’s two prior marriages had ended in divorce.
Marcelin Albert arrives in Argelliers to address 12 000 supporters. He says he will speak after consulting colleagues and reports Clemenceau promised leniency if the movement stays peaceful. Committee votes to continue till demand full satisfaction. Albert to surrender midweek.
In Beziers six regiments moved mutineers from Agde to a train, three other regiments surrounded the barracks and escorted the Seventeenth Infantry mutineers. Many mutineers arrived in Beziers yesterday and were arrested on return. Destination remains secret with France rumored as Brancon or Algeria and Corsica as possible targets.
A Nimes delegation led by its mayor met Premier Clemenceau to demand the immediate release of M. Ferroul former Narbonne mayor and imprisoned members of the Committee of Argelliers and to quash proceedings against them.
H G Reed a carpenter and brother of Cincinnati doctor C A L Reed and Hamilton doctor W S Reed fell eight feet from a breaking scaffold at the Champion Coated Paper Company plant. His right leg was crushed and he is expected to be laid up for a month or more. Reed was employed by the Frank Gilbreth Construction Company.
A Lewistown reservoir leaked from a 30 foot wide hole sending floodwaters into the Miami River. Towns along the river were warned while forty men labor waist deep to plug the breach. Officials say danger of a larger flood has passed.
In St. Petersburg 139 Social Revolutionists and Group of Toil deputies publish manifestos denouncing the Emperor for breach of faith. They urge a steady organized fight to reclaim peasant rights, land expropriation, and parliamentary representation, blaming the government for repression and disfranchisement.
Special Dispatch to Commercial Tribune Mayfield Ky June 24 Edward Williams shot and killed Roger Dawson at a picnic near Mayfield then fled. Officers tracked him an hour later and found him asleep in a fence corner. They say the killer’s snoring led to the arrest.
The second triennial ninth convention of the Supreme Council of the Ladies' Catholic Benevolent Association will be held in Springfield Massachusetts on July 16. The organization claims to be the largest fraternal group of women in the United States with over 150000 members. President Mrs E B McGowan of Buffalo New York and Supreme Deputy Miss Kate Gallagher of Cincinnati lead the delegation. Gallagher and Mrs J F Griffin of Walnut Hills will represent Cincinnati for the Assumption Branch at the meeting.
At the 1899 International Peace Conference in The Hague discussions on naval warfare and the Drago doctrine prompted unease among South American powers. United States proposals on debt collection and private property at sea drew scrutiny, while Carnegie and Mrs. Carnegie arrived alongside other delegates and dignitaries.
In Boise on June 24 Clarence Darrow outlined William D. Haywood's defense to Orchard's murder accusations. He denied a statewide conspiracy, argued the Western Federation of Miners seeks higher wages and safer conditions, and claimed mine owners and Pinkerton agents conspired to discredit the federation. He predicted Haywood would testify alongside Moyer while Pettibone would not be a witness, and noted complex financial and personal links between Orchard and Pettibone.
A four story building at Lafayette and Walker streets collapsed early this morning in New York. Eighteen people were inside. seven escaped, two rescued, nine believed trapped. Two Italian families on the third floor and Lindig and Muller families on the second floor were affected. George Archino, 19, and sister Maude, 14, were rescued badly injured.

Secretary Taft orders a new inquiry into claims linked to Lieutenant Colonel Charles G. Ayres and a published interview concerning the West Point affair involving his wife Mrs. Ayres. Ayres refused comment on authenticity.
In New York on June 24 the grand jury heard the case of G R Scrugham, manager for the International Policy Holders Committee, tied to recent life insurance elections. Evidence also covered Charles Stirrup, an Scrugham aide charged with conspiracy.
