An explosion of benzine sparked a fire on the second floor of The Cincinnati Auto Specialty Company at 312-314 Main St. The four story brick building extended to 311 Hammond St. About forty workers fled safely as flames spread to storage of leather goods and celluloid. Firemen fought from front and rear using high pressure lines, gaining control after about an hour. one employee briefly hurt when a metal extinguisher exploded in his arms.

Dope gang leaders arrested after cocaine seizure at Smith Street
Two men believed to head a major narcotics ring from Canada were taken into custody by Detective John Rolf and officers Hays Bullerdick Jissie and Gathlain.
