Kenan Balloon Stanch Airship Trial Ends Near Coney Island
Norman Kenan announces plans to enter the Chicago balloon race after a stormy trial trip. The Cincinnatian aeronauts Haddock and Howard landed near Coney Island amid rain, citing minimal leakage and a 750 pound ballast load as proof of the bag's staying power for the $10,000 prize event set for July 2 to 4. The weather proved a handicap as winds shifted and winds aloft varied, causing a zigzag course before landing. Mrs Winslow's soothing syrup note appears at end.
