Fire kills twelve in Paterson store blast disaster
A fire and explosion at the Abe M. Rittenberg fireworks shop in a four story Paterson building killed twelve people and injured many others. The blast shattered windows, toppled the upper floors, and sent a bystander fleeing as rescuers pulled bodies from the debris. The cause is under investigation and property loss is estimated at 35000 dollars.

Findlay Ohio June 21 Martin Tolliver a vicious negro confined in the jail was given a medicine dose as he tormented inmates. He lit straw torn from his mattress causing smoke that filled his cell. Tolliver was overcome and resuscitated after doctors worked over an hour. He has been quiet since.
