Rockefeller pays chauffeur's fine after speed stop

Fire at Freiburgs Liquor House Sparks Across Main Street
A spark from crossed electric wires at Freiburgs liquor rectifying house at 28 Main Street ignited fumes from a vat and caused a fierce blast. Firefighters used a water tower and extra apparatus to keep the blaze in check, saving the wholesale district. One worker, John Whitney of Dayton Kentucky, escaped by climbing from a second floor window. another man was knocked down by a patrolman but saved. Estimated damage does not exceed fifteen thousand dollars, with most losses from fourteen vats and surrounding pipes. other nearby whisky dealers suffered minor smoke and water damage. Albert C. Gardner 34 a machinist living at 421 Franklin street was injured in the B and O wreck near Mitchell Indiana. He left for Hot Springs two months ago for his health and was married with five children. Mrs Gardner reported he was expected to arrive home tonight and expressed relief over his condition.
