Pennsylvania state senator Webster won on the first ballot at the Allentown convention to secure the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. He led in a party gathering aiming to shape the race for governor.
Governor Harmon moves toward drafting the party platform in Dayton ahead of the state convention. He will not seek nomination for state treasurer and denies any backroom deal about Creamer. The platform is being shaped by J Sprig McMahon and W L Finley as the convention nears.
