Cardinal Anthony Hubert Fischer archbishop of Cologne died today in Rhenish Prussia after a long illness. Born 1840 he became cardinal in 1903 and was a leading figure in the Cologne movement. He recently visited Rome hoping the pope would back Catholic labor unions against the Berlin movement.
