A 15 year old boy Archie White at 906 Van Horne Street was badly burned when a gasoline stove thrown from a window exploded and splashed burning fuel on him. Vernon Littrell a fourteen year old pupil at the Ohio Soldiers and Sailors Orphans Home in Xenia was shot twice by Major Oliver Box the military instructor during an attempt to lock him in a room.
