Mt. Clemens Mich July 25 Witness Bishop Mackay Detroit head of Michigan Diocese of the Prof Church testified that Henry Ford statements were rhetorical half truths. He said such language is common in oratory and not proof of anarchist belief. He noted many Christians would agree with similar sentiments if lived as preached.
Ohio officials announce a probe into Cincinnati cold storage where food rots while prices rise. Arthur McWilliams of the dairy and food department will lead the investigation, with Thomas C. Gault promising a vigorous crackdown on profiteering. He cites forty nine licensed plants in Ohio and strict monthly reporting to begin immediately.

Three armed bandits robbed a Standard Oil gas station at Third Street and McKinley Avenue in Canton at about 10 am, taking 102 dollars from the cash register. Harry Noble, alone at the station, was held as the three suspects fled in a large sedan after leaving the engine running.
Washington July 25. Senator Spencer reports President Wilson hopeful for rapid progress on Shan tung provision in the peace treaty and says reservations drafted at Lodge's suggestion may gain quick ratification if adopted. White House defers Franco-American pact until after Germany treaty moves forward, with a tour slated to begin August 10.
