Cincinnati officials announce eight cent rides after August 1 with pay as you enter to curb fare dodging by riders. Traction officials say the switch will save time and money, though conductors complain of transfer abuse as riders brag about beating the company.

A sixteen year old girl from 238 Stetson street and cafe owner Anthony Kramer were injured when three cars collided at Eastern and State avenues. Kramer swerved to avoid a parked car and was later charged with reckless driving. Frederic Droll of 2526 Jefferson avenue and Robert Finkelmeier of 3480 Vine street drove their cars into Kramer's. The victims were treated by Dr Karn Braun and sent home. neither injury was serious.
In Gulf Creek Pass Del Norte Colorado a waterspout struck a car killing Mrs Ernest Giesecke of Honolulu and Miss Bertha Giesecke of Denver. Albert Giesecke and his wife were hospitalized after the car was hurled 400 feet from a precipice. A Highway Department worker found the bodies.
J Harry Humphreys of Huntington Virginia was re elected president of the Gideon Society of America by unanimous ballot this afternoon in Sioux City Iowa confirming his leadership.
Columbus Ohio July 23 Warden P E Thomas of the Ohio Penitentiary answered criticisms from a Cleveland speech by Thomas Mott Osborne claiming Osborne’s soviet style inmate governance inspired riots at a Western Pennsylvania prison. Thomas defended Ohio conditions noting 2300 inmates and 860 cells and said Osborne has never entered the Ohio Penitentiary.
Louisville July 23 Booze thieves fear guards with loaded guns and operations halted after Collector Robert Lucas ordered shooting to kill on June 28. He notes no distillery robbery since then, contrasting past nightly thefts and a Gun at Rugby Distillery who slept through a theft as three barrels were stolen.
