Ingersoll Dies at Dobbs Ferry After Heart Attack
Robert Green Ingersoll died at his summer home in Dobbs Ferry at 12:30 PM from heart disease. The famed lawyer and infidel, aged 87, had been ill since 1896 and spent his final hours with family including daughter Maude and son in law Walston H Brown. He had spoken of dying slowly but preferred a painless, sudden death.
