Berlin July 19 The German General Staff reports comfort on eastern and western fronts and will allow foreign correspondents to tour war zones within a week. The two men had clashed after Blakeslee’s marshal victory last fall.

Dr Celia P Adams of Brookline lay in morgue awaiting autopsy when fiancé Dr Eldridge Delorie Atwood of Woburn was arraigned in Municipal Court on shooting intent to murder Dr Wilfred E Harris president of the Massachusetts College of Osteopathy. Atwood held on 15000 bail for July 25 hearing. Harris in dying condition. Adams reportedly confessed betrayal by Harris. medical examiner notes death from poison taken by mouth with undetermined nature.
In Columbus on July 19 Attorney General Turner told Prosecuting Attorney Moore of Cambridge that civil liability for negligence applies to a contractor who fails to mark highway obstructions with a red light or danger signal, but the act is not a criminal offense.
The city of Chillicothe Ohio suffered one of its worst cloudbursts last night. About four inches of rain fell in two hours overwhelming sewers and flooding streets car tracks and homes. In places water reached five feet in houses as residents were carried to safety.
Report from Ronda, South Carolina, confirmed three women two men and two children drowned in Yadkin River floodwaters. Death toll rose to forty with six missing as Bat Cave Chimney Rock and nearby areas suffered heavy losses. Damages are estimated at least fifteen million dollars as rail and bridge repairs begin.
