New York reports more than 70 million dollars in imports in bonded warehouses awaiting a tariff law reduction. On July 1 bonds held 64 million, with estimates exceeding 100 million when the measure takes effect. Importers ship daily to meet orders, filling 56 city warehouses with goods from around the world awaiting the new duties.
Eleanore White Trenholm testified in a divorce suit by Henry A. Trenholm a Board of Trade operator claiming desertion. She described a brief honeymoon and alleged lack of affection while Trenholm denied coldness and said he once hugged her.
Urgent appeals for help and food reached Marietta officials in Toledo Ohio today from Duck Creek Valley residents. A carload of provisions was sent to Lowell and then by wagon to the flooded district as about 100 homes were washed away during the cloudburst and heavy rains. Streams are receding now.

New York July 16 Robert J Katz a porter at an iron works wrote Sheriff Harburg er asking if he could marry on a porter's wages. The Sheriff replied that many women can make a happy home on a porter's salary and praised Inez Milholland as an ideal wife. The letter arrived after the Milholland Boissevain wedding was announced.
Frank Reimer, clutching a horseshoe as a luck charm, is arrested in front of Lebolt and Co. jewelers at State and Monroe streets. Police say the business has suffered repeated breakage since February 1911, with gems valued at about $6,000 stolen over four prior smashings.
