In St Cla irsville Ohio July 16 Wil Hoge attempted suicide with laudanum in a personal crisis. Friends revived him after his labored breathing signaled danger though a few days earlier he expected a prominent young lady as his fiancée before plans faltered.
A lightning strike in Brevard North Carolina killed Robbie Lee Addie Tillman and another young woman at 3 PM yesterday. Lee was a son of Professor J F Lee of Due West South Carolina and pastor of the Episcopal Church of Yorkville. Tillman was the eldest daughter of Senator Tillman.
J W Parris a tollgate keeper near Athens and Chilesburg Pike shot Jasper Blacks after a dispute over toll. Black, a local farmer, was killed as he returned to confront Parris. Parris was arrested in Winchester and to stand trial tomorrow.
Indianapolis reports John Hunter a known Admiral cigarette salesman accused of a cash shortage of several hundred dollars. He was found in Chicago by John Rauch, who noted Hunter avoided inquiry, while his destitute wife and infant faced local hardship in Ohio Street neighborhood as Admiral checks continue.
Special Dispatch Massillon Ohio reports a fatal parade accident when driver David Denio lost control of a band wagon under a low steel bridge during Buffalo Bill's Wild West show. Several performers and spectators were injured, with Antonio Grandoso and Domenico Plecco among the dead or dying.

North Vernon Indiana July 16 The Democratic Congressional Convention for the Fourth District nominated W 8 Holman for Congress on the sixth ballot. Opponents included Joel H Matlock Francis T Hord and Marion T Griffiths. Holman is seventy seven years old.

J H Brennen manager of J H Duffy Company shoe findings at 806 Main Street suffered a fractured left forearm and severe bruises after rolled between two streetcars at Blue Rock and Hamilton. He boarded a Clifton Avenue car and was struck while stepping onto the running board. he recovered after seeking treatment at Dr Wacher's office.
Frank Shannon a well known furniture maker of 410 Hopkins Street was injured Thursday when jostled aboard a moving street car at League Park. He fell under the wheel losing several fingers and is for life maimed. Doctors say amputation may be necessary.
