Mrs. William Thaw sold 1 000 acres of Thaw coal lands in Mt. Pleasant Township Westmoreland County to Mt. Pleasant Coal and Coke Company for 2 000 000 dollars. The lands formed part of the Coal and Coke Trust once built by William Thaw and are expected to be worth 10 000 000 dollars in a few years.

Philadelphia July 11 The Lincoln Trust Company resumed business today after a three month suspension caused by an alleged impairment in its capital.
Haywood took the stand in Boise on July 11 denying the murder of Frank Steunenberg and related crimes. He described his life and mining leadership while opposing prosecution claims, and contradicted links to Orchard, Simpkins, and Federation support including a $1500 defense fund and a $100 transfer. His testimony highlighted denials of involvement in the Steunenberg murder and other alleged acts.
Priscilla Bowie and her son Henry face trial over the January shooting that killed Hubert Posey. In court, Priscilla Bowie admitted firing the shots while recounting attempts to force Posey toward marriage to her daughter. The testimony showed family tensions and coercive threats preceding the fatal act.
