A woman found buried under lime in a cellar in Philadelphia’s northeast, known only as Annie, was likely murdered by her householder Charles Bluhm who died May 19. Bluhm’s wife later uncovered the corpse while preparing the house for occupancy, revealing a 40 year old mill worker with no identification.
Frank Burke 22 an assistant of Dogcatcher Louis Martin attempted to kill himself after a quarrel with a woman acquaintance. He drank chloral naptholeum beside Elm and Charles streets before collapsing. He was taken to City Hospital in a possibly recoverable condition. Burke lives at 523 West Court street and is unmarried.
An east-bound New York mail train collided with freight No 99 near Oakalla, five miles west of Greencastle Indiana. Fireman Tippy, 40, of Indianapolis, fatally injured. Engineer A M Garner of Mattoon Illinois seriously hurt. No mail clerks or passengers harmed. Engine and cars derailed into a cornfield. eight freight cars demolished. Trainmaster Costen said responsibility undetermined.
Telephoned reports from Burnsville and Clarksburg West Virginia recount a Sunday afternoon clash near Burnsville between Texas Jack's Wild West Show cowboys and Baltimore & Ohio excursionists en route from Clarksburg to Richwood. Cowboy owner Joe Johnson and rider Mexican George died. six excursionists were wounded. Two cowboys were captured and imprisoned at Sutton Braxton County jail after the fusillade ended.

The figure hailed from a naval family and aristocratic background, and early in his career taught philosophy at the Ecole Normal in Paris. He later represented the Tarn prefecture as a Republican.
New York July 9 Two persons were shot one probably fatally in a white versus negro riot on West Sixteenth Street. Henry Hart colored attacked for alleged ball game interference fled to his tenement. Hart fired after police captured Bart Love. A shot from a negro tenement hit Mrs Mary Donohue fatally or near so. Albert Niddleton and five others arrested as fighting continued until rain stopped it.
In Xenia Ohio on Sunday around 1 am Oscar Webb 22 of Boweraville and Joseph Kellison of Bloomington dueled with revolvers over a young woman. Webb was shot twice Kellison was hit once but both are expected to survive.

ALBANY July 9 In its quarterly bulletin the State Department of Labor notes the strikes severely weakened unions. The rapid transit strike disruptions dissolved 4,000 plus members, glaziers union 500, Fulton County glove makers saw large losses. Between 1984 and 1966, 165 unions dissolved and 20 merged, while only 99 new unions formed leaving 2,418. Total members 374,262, a drop of 17,414 since September. New York City lost 8,741 members to 245,978.
A rowboat with a cap a letter to Mrs William Theron Fremont Ohio a grocery book bearing Therons name and other items was found four miles west of Michigan City Ind today. Kerbaugh & Co. with names including Wiseman, Green, Thompson, Mullach and Miller. A coroner's jury found premature explosion. spark from tamping may have ignited powder.
In Brazil Indiana on July 9 an unknown individual visited farmer R Caldwell at his front door saying a relative was ill and fired five shots striking Caldwell in the heart, killing him instantly. Police seek the killer as bloodhounds are deployed and posses form to track the suspect.
