Springfield July 9 For the first time in Camp Lincoln history the regimental band of the Illinois National Guard played Dixie at dress parade The First Infantry band with drum and bugle corps performed the tune as it marched in battalion formation before the regiment.
Parkersburg dispatch says Ripley merchant and postmaster Chris Click died Friday after replying to a health inquiry with I can barely carry myself. He was a bachelor with an estimated estate of 25000 dollars.
London July 9 General Lord Kitchener plans to inhabit Gordon's restored Khartum palace now rebuilt as the seat of Sudan government. The palace, site of Gordon's death in 1885, will host governance as Khartum resumes its status as capital while plans for a Gordon Memorial College proceed.

The crowd reacted with intense alarm before the full extent of the injuries was known.
R D Fowler, superintendent of the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad main line, will next Saturday assume the superintendency of the St Louis and St Elmo divisions and the Marion to Thebes line under construction. J C Muir becomes chief train dispatcher.
William Reinhard and family were driving a carriage when a collision caused six deaths and one child injured. Authorities investigated the wreck and identified the victims and the surviving rider.
In Columbus Ohio a late Big Four train hit a horse drawn carriage at Woodward avenue killing William Reinhard 41 and his wife Rachel 40 and four of their five children aged 12 9 7 and 5. Clarence 14 survived with injuries as the train was traveling fifty miles per hour and the crossing unprotected.
Lexington July 9 The Blue Grass Building and Loan Association will incur nearly 20000 in settling its affairs. Dissatisfied stockholders sued to save assignment costs and hired Louisville firms Humphrey Davie and C H Stoll for 5000 each. Fees were later cut to 4250 each. Attorneys Bronston Allen and Bruce Helm receive 1500 each, receiver Charles Kerr 2500, and Secretary Porter distributed 20 percent of remaining funds after litigation costs.
Miss Henrietta Crapp a 16 year old girl daughter of a local insurance man vanished from the H C Underwood home near the Soldiers' Home four miles from Atlanta. Thirty men and detectives search with no trace found. Last seen Saturday at 4 pm in a house dress and slippers. A carriage was spotted nearby but elopement is ruled out.
An Akron Ohio accident on the A B and C line claims the life of Clarence D Smith assistant superintendent. His wife and three children survive. George Paul civil engineer suffers severe injuries and may die. Hundreds visit the morgue to view Motorman Earl T Martin and his young son who lie in the same grave awaiting Monday burial.
