A massive blaze swept Goldfield on July 6, destroying all but six buildings. One man died from heart failure during the ordeal and a missing woman is believed dead. The fire, likely started by an incendiary connected to a bootleggers feud, spread from the Tenderloin district to the Brown-Parker garage area, aided by weak water pressure and dynamite.
