Springfield Ohio July 6 Hamilton Ring aged 14 and Henry Leonard aged 16 were killed at the Urbana Chautauqua when an electric wire dropped on a telephone line. A wind blew insulation off allowing 2800 volts to arc to the boys. Leonard touched a knob to grab screws and was electrocuted. Ring attempted to help and was fatally shocked.
