Wheat gains on Liverpool futures and rain threats to U S harvest. July contracts strong but export bids lag. Corn mixed as oats fall. hog and grain weakness weigh on futures. cash prices show No 2 red wheat 79 80 cents, No 2 yellow corn mid-60s to 68 cents.
Markets show mixed tones as wheat and corn prices drift across multiple U S and international hubs. Spot wheat holds firm in New York while Duluth Minneapolis and Milwaukee list varied bids and futures. oats barley and barley futures also appear with minor shifts.
Washington telegraph reports the Treasury opening business with a net general fund balance of 145,835,502 dollars, receipts yesterday 32,462,229 dollars, and total payments 335,060 dollars. The year’s surplus stands at 34,784,452 dollars, down from a last year surplus of 39,832,958 dollars.
Paris July 1 The weekly statement from the Bank of France indicates increases of 21 988 in gold in hand and 536 000 in silver holdings when issued in raw form.

Special Dispatch to The Commercial Tribune Chicago July 1. “Slicky” McMahon describes a Chicago gang and a price list for fixing jurors field work and bribing or intimidating witnesses in murder and other cases. He cites costs from $2,000 to $16,000 for murder jury fixing and related services. He was arrested after W B Cummins reported being approached with offers to supply false testimony.
Special cable reports Gavrilo Princip, the suspected Archduke Francis Ferdinand killer, has confessed and states he is past twenty. Authorities describe a thorough plot with two clock bombs and a bomb found under a luncheon table. Princip says he does not regret the deed and aimed to strike at the monarchy in Sarajevo and Ilija.
A Cincinnati firm Roche Bruner Building Company bids $213,894 for the general contract of Hamilton High School. The next high bid is $216,000 and other general bids range up to $264,000. Several bidders offer $180,000 to $176,000 for the building excluding heating and ventilation, with total costs likely exceeding the overall estimate.
The first spadeful of earth for Hanselmann Lodge No. 208 temple will be turned at the Clifton avenue site near Riddle road at 7 30 this morning. Ernst Troy will preside over the exercises.

Samuel Bolarsky of 828 Isabella Street Newport was arrested yesterday by Detective Bell and Hays on a warrant secured by John J. Duppe Jr of 2000 Central Avenue. Duppe alleges Bolarsky moved mortgaged butcher shop equipment to Newport.
Mrs. Mary Malloy aged 30 of 1649 Kemper Lane died at City Hospital yesterday from an ulcerated stomach. The death notice gives her age and residence with no immediate funeral details.

Albert Lewis of 319 Pike Street, via Attorne L Rosenberg, obtained a warrant in Municip Court yesterday for the arrest of a man posing as John Ryting on a garage keeper swindle. The impostor, alleged to be John Ryling of Covington, rented a car last April and a $6 bill was sent to the real Ryling before the deception was discovered. The whereabouts of the swindler are unknown.
The estimated assessment for improving Hazelwood Avenue from Montana to Arwiler by grading curbs and brick paving has been filed for inspection. Ordinance 474-1913 authorized the work passed September 2, 1913 and the report is on file at the City of Cincinnati Clerk of Council office as of June 38, 1914.
