The Department of the East announced next summer’s military training camps at Plattsburg New York and Fort Oglethorpe Georgia with a minimum attendance planned at ten thousand and Major General Leonard Wood predicting it could double. Five Plattsburg camps and four at Ft Oglethorpe will run from June through October with senior divisions for graduates and junior divisions for undergraduates and high school seniors.
In New Madrid Missouri on January 26 trials of sixty seven night riders farm tenants ended. Judge Sterling McCarthy paroled thirty nine yesterday and released thirteen more on church attendance. Eight leaders face penitentiary terms tomorrow with six others freed or dismissed. Offenders named include Riley Miskel Walter Willoby John Elder Dick Gamble A J Wallace John Osborne John W Spinner and Tude Miskel. One defendant acquitted.
