Worker Suffers Serious Burns From Molten Lead at Clifton Springs Distillery
Stewart Dobel, a Ludlow resident on Grove Avenue, suffered severe facial and shoulder burns when a molten lead pot exploded after water was added. A fellow worker caused the blast by pouring cold water into the hot pot. Dobel was taken to City Hospital and may lose sight in both eyes.
