Five persons die at the Secor road crossing five miles west of Toledo when a New York Central train strikes a small coupe carrying the Morse family from Walrville Ohio. A 24 year old man named Jimmy Charlton eluded Cincinnati police for hours at Elizabethtown Ohio after being linked to the Palace Theater theft of 7200 and the Elks Temple robbery of 900. Charlton fled with his wife and sister in law after officers surrounded the residence and later fled into high weeds. Police had earlier arrested Henry Trimble and Leslie McNeal who admitted Fuller and Charlton helped plan the hold ups. Charlton escaped, but the search continued.
