In Cleveland Ohio a gunman who terrorized Woodland Avenue and East Fifty Fifth Street for three days was captured after a chase. He shot eight women wounded one man and fired at children and walkers while eluding police. His arrest ends a reign of terror.
The Style Committee of the International Association of Clothing Designers plans pink feathers for derbies and hats at the Hotel Linton convention. J H Kloffenstein predicts open rebellion yet notes orderly adoption as fashion shifts from jazz suits to more restrained lines.
A Bastrop La inquiry reports a black hooded gang still operates in Morehouse Parish. DOJ officers cite a highway hold up near Mer Rouge with six to eight attackers, one pistol in hand, asking if the victim was "Mr. Knight" and naming Sidney Rogers as a local resident involved. John P Parker, Monroe citizen, was shot in Monroe by Carey Calhoun of Bastrop amid open hearings on hooded gang activity.

The bandits escaped in a taxi.
The Covington Citizens' Telephone Company unveiled its new $600000 exchange at Eleventh and Scott, featuring Italian Renaissance design, a granite base, Bedford limestone, a glass-lined layout, a chef’s kitchen, a rest area with an oak floor, a silence room, and extensive main cables ready for growth as about 6000 new subscribers transfer from the old South Exchange tonight.
The River combination carried the program in the House and forced an increase in the rivers and harbors appropriation from 37 million to 56.585 million. The administration supported the larger total but the combination won by 152 to 44.

Eveline Booth of Oglethorpe County Ga dies at 125 years 9 months 11 days. Her third child is 99, she had sixteen children forty eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Birth date March 13 1797 is handed down in her family. She was a longstanding Mt Zion Church member for 115 years.
After nearly 27 hours of deliberation a Williamson County jury found five defendants not guilty of murder in the killing of Howard Hoffman during the Herrin riots last June. The verdicts came as Judge D. T. Hartwell read them at 1:50 pm, prompting little reaction beyond a sob from one defendant’s wife. The five defendants Leva Mann Joe Carnaghi Peter Hiller Burt Grace and Otis Clark were all union miners except Hiller, a taxi driver. They face possible retrials on related charges.
Davenport report says Illinois Attorney General Edward Brundage will press all prosecutions of those indicted in the Herrin Mine riots despite the first five acquittals on murder charges. He blamed a prevailing spirit of intimidation for the acquittals and stated all five he believed were guilty.
Colonel Edmund H Taylor Jr aged 93 died at Thistleton near Frankfort after a brief pneumonia illness. He founded Old Taylor whisky and built Frankfort distilleries. A longtime banker earlier in life, he served as Frankfort mayor for 17 years and held state offices. Survived by three sons and five daughters. Funeral at 10:30 Monday at Thistleton with Rt. Rev. Lewis Burton officiating.
German occupation forces began seizing state mines in the Ruhr, occupying Bergmannsglück and Westerhold near Buer and arresting manager Jens for coal delivery refusal. Troops also moved on Moeller at Gladbeck and Okremmbaden at Bottrop, while a district railway chief refused coal dispatches amid French demands.
