In Milwaukee on January 18 Mayor Daniel W. Hoan was jeered as he attempted to speak at a city reception for returning soldiers. Gov. E. L. Chicago January 18 Millard H Cutter the broker who confessed to bond forgeries totaling $600000 pleaded guilty today and was sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of one to fourteen years Information shows the plea followed a voluntary confession and relates to large scale securities fraud from recent months
Paderewski announces a multi party cabinet in Poland with backing from German Russian and Austrian Poland bankers including M English as finance minister. The new government pledges nonpartisan rule and alliance with the Allies while preparing for mid February National Assembly elections.
