Terre Haute Indiana January 16 Mayor Dean M Roberts announced a city hall cleansing targeting employees indicted and pleading guilty in Federal Grand Jury proceedings. Named slated to leave include patrolman Robert Lloyd engineer's office Eric Harris custodian and cemetery superintendent Claude Patton. Pay through arraignment day will be kept unless they resign.
Militia Department confirms unofficial dispatches from Montreal stating Canadian Vickers is constructing eight first class submarines for the British navy. Keels for the fleet have been laid, with several vessels expected ready by next August as the plant runs at full capacity.

London Jan 15 official Russian General Staff reports a new large force moving in Northern Poland on the Lower Vistula frontier near Skrwa River. An 800,000 to 1,000,000 man army may operate with East Prussia forces to trap German units at Mlawa and threaten Warsaw’s rear. The report notes continued Russian harassment of Turks and movements in Azerbaijan and Persia.
