Miss Anna Schley 28, youngest daughter of the late Colonel William Louis Schley and cousin of Admiral Schley, died by shooting herself at her Baltimore home. Doctors say melancholia after her father's sudden death three weeks ago led to the tragedy. she had cared for him in his declining years. She left family in the parlor before returning to her room and shooting herself with a revolver believed to have belonged to her Civil War officer father.
Balti more & Ohio Southwestern Fast Mail No 4 ran off track near Noble Ill after a broken rail at 5 am injuring about fifteen passengers. W H Shafer of Johnstown Pa and his large family survived with varied injuries. Several named passengers from Vincennes Assumption Ill St Louis Philadelphia and Washington were listed as injured. No deaths reported.
Ten thousand people from the three falls cities attended the funeral of Nathaniel Isler of Company E Seventh United States Cavalry. He was the only Indiana boy killed at San Juan, shot July 1 and died July 4. Services in the armory featured Rev. W. H. Sheets and Commander Ryan of the Indiana Department GAR. The procession included the Newsboys Raid platoon and city secret societies. Isler fell in the arms of a fellow soldier. the body was later disinterred and brought home.
A collision west of Richmond Indiana between Indianapolis division trains 81 and 84 destroyed thirteen loaded cars and caused $30,000 to $50,000 in losses. Crews escaped serious injury, and trains were detoured until late in the day. In Delaware Ohio a northbound freight derailed by a broken flange left twelve cars piled up but no injuries. Huntington West Virginia January 15 a twelve year old boy son of Geo Dawson lay in a coffin since Friday after doctors believed he died from anesthetic after surgery. Signs of life appeared and the funeral planned for Saturday is indefinitely postponed.
Police in Carlisle notified of multiple safes blown and the suspects seen heading toward Mount Sterling. The trio, described as John Churchill Cumberland d and Curtis Kimball of Louisville, aged 28, were arrested at noon with about $85 in gold. They were armed but did not resist.
A naphtha yacht named Paul Jones, departing Louisville December 7 with Col B C Yocum and guests including Miss Florence Taggart and Miss Margarie Woodland, is feared lost after failing to send updates. The craft, owned by Lawrence Jones of Louisville, faced multiple delays and a deadly gale off the Gulf coast. tugs and ships search ports as relatives await news.

George Woodland of 355 Oakwood Boulevard reported his daughter Miss Margie Woodland among the three young ladies aboard the yacht Paul Jones missing in the Gulf of Mexico. Owner Lawrence Jones of Louisville said efforts to trace the vessel are under way with an ocean tug from New Orleans and coast-to-coast inquiries. Indianapolis Mayor Taggart, whose daughter was present, telegraphed for a long distance chat, but the family and city still hope the yacht and passengers are not lost.
Louisville & Nashville bullion train carrying 286000 in silver bars from Philadelphia to New Orleans faced a scare near Lagrange when a signal light went out. Officers and four guards stood ready with Winchesters as the train stopped briefly, then resumed after the light issue was resolved.

A private of the Twenty-third Kansas Regiment broke into a store opposite police headquarters and stole a diamond ring. Police responded and the man was shot but not seriously injured. Local press portrays the event as part of the regiment's troubled record.
Santiago report states an officer in the Third Immune Regiment Guantanamo district has been held under arrest on charges of a very serious character involving more than $1,000. The case details are not disclosed.
Henry Mater a 35 year old Kokomo bar tender, dazed and delirious from grip, fled into the woods escaping attendants. His body was found at 9 am in a roadside ditch west of Kokomo mangled from running through barbed wire fences and died from exposure.
Chicago police report William J. Russell a cooper shot and killed his son-in-law James Deenen after an alleged disparagement of the Russell family. Russell fled and remains at large.
