Divorce Worry Drives Jordan to Shoot Self
Isaac M. Jordan a lawyer and son-in-law of former Judge Peter S. Grosscup killed himself in the Palmer House Chicago amid a broken marriage and after losing custody of his five year old daughter Virginia. He had filed many letters and left directions for mail to be destroyed. Jordan had been divorced from his wife in 1913 and suffered the effects of the separation and loss of his child. He was 41 years old and formerly active in Cincinnati and Chicago legal and social circles.
