Eleanor Zoeckler, a detective nurse, testified that Mrs. Laura Farnsworth Schenk offered her $1000 to give a poisonous pill to John O. Schenk while he was ill at North Wheeling hospital last November. The alleged attempt to induce the nurse to act occurred during a car ride.
Speaker Samuel J. Vining plans to ask the Ohio Supreme Court to rule on the validity of this session to block a Cincinnati election fraud probe by a House committee. He fears Hamilton County political pressure could bar the inquiry and may seek an injunction via mandamus against state officials to fast track the case.
