A rescue effort is under orders from Washington to General Bell and Colonel Wilder sent search parties to Lower California.
A dispatch from Tokyo reports nine hundred Chinese miners were entombed by an explosion at the Fushun Colliery in Manchuria. A later update said 138 miners were rescued.
