Wealthy Rankin Clemmons of Lexington Ky narrowly survives a porch assault amid mystery and threats as detectives seek attackers. In Versailles Ohio a bold five man raid robs Henry Stroker of cash and notes after forcing him to drink with them.
W 8 Riney, alleged defaulting Circuit Court Clerk, was arrested by city detectives on a state warrant charging embezzlement. A church here, Rainey, a former Cincinnati resident, said he would pay up to 50 000. Bond set at 10 000 pending grand jury action. he has long been active in local and state politics.
In Barcelona on January 13 a large gathering chaired by former Mayor Senor Erchert pressed the Spanish government to suppress bull fights. The meeting aimed to mobilize public support and present a formal demand for action.
