Pittsburg reports show a sharp temperature drop slowed a flood but caused heavy damage. The crest is expected near 26 feet at the Point Bridge with a forecast of 38 feet for Wheeling Monday. Residents along Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio rivers evacuated and saved thousands by moving stocks and household goods to upper floors.
Flood conditions close mills and suspend rail service across Ohio river towns. The Dilworth, Porter & Co. steel mill, south side, may halt 1,200 workers as floods surround Brewer distillery. Ohio river at Parkersburg rises to 44.8 feet with crest likely Monday. Little Kanawha and Muskingum floods cause heavy damage. Rail traffic on the Ohio lines halted. Parkersburg access limited to westbound B&O route. Steubenville faces 31 feet 6 inches stage with crest near 37 feet. Empire and Brilliant residents await relief before returning home. Weather forecast predicts a 61.5 foot flood stage this morning with waters rising about one foot in 24 hours before peaking midweek. Officials expect levels to reach 63 to 64 feet eventually, while heavy rain in West Virginia and a late cold snap complicate the outlook. Cincinnati could see 61 to 62 feet today, then 62 to 63 feet tomorrow as other gauges show Portsmouth and Catlettsburg around 59 and 56 feet respectively.

The men, released on bonds of 3000 each, face assault and battery and attempted kidnapping charges with possible life imprisonment if convicted.
London reports that Marjorie Watson, a West End dressmaker's model, rivals the Venus de Milo in measurements. Ethel Batley vouches for her 5 foot 9 and Grecian head, with a matching bust and hips, while Watson notes a normal life with cycling and swimming.

In Huntington Indiana officials of the Erie railroad are under arrest and two others are bonded as 2000 feet of Cincinnati Bluffton and Chicago track were ripped up by a crew owned by the Erie. The action halted all traffic on the C B and C line.
Joseph Harriman III nephew of the late E H Harriman is a patient at William Muldoon's rest cure sanitarium on White Plains outskirts. He suffers from neurasthenia but is reported to be improving and plans to leave in a few days. He rides horses daily and appears to be well.
Paris Illinois report says Andrew Hunter, former Illinois congressman, died today at age 81. Born earlier in life, he served in public office with a notable political career and remained a respected figure in his state. A funeral is planned locally with friends and colleagues paying tribute.
Mil ton Gerhard, a Philadelphia area farmer, married last week and received a gold four posted bed as a wedding gift. The bed would not fit through the doors of a country house, so he removed roof shingles and rafters to create an opening. He hoisted the bed to the roof with tackle and lowered it into the bridal chamber before repairing the roof.

Weather bureau reports continued rain over 48 hours causes a new flood in the upper river. The second flood wave is expected to be less severe than the first.
