New York January 10 Angelo Lombardi was arrested for selling tiny decks of playing cards at Times Square without a peddler license. Magistrate Corrigan questioned the price and ended by taking two checks and fining Lombardi two dollars.

San Antonio Texas January 10 Lieutenant Fonda B Johnson aged 31 was killed instantly when his squadron plane collided with a Spad flown by Sergeant D G Warner near Kelly Field. Both aircraft wrecked but Warner escaped uninjured after a 2000 foot fall.
In Bastrop Morehouse Parish the state court probes the Richards kidnapping and killing. Witnesses name thirteen men linked to a Ku Klux Klan operation including Burnett Skipworth Monroe Campbell and Sheriff Carpenter. Neelis testifies he was halted by hooded men and escorted toward the woods where Richards was taken.
Great Britain and the United States opened formal talks on the British wartime debt. The British delegation supplied budget data and assets figures as the American Debt Commission weighed terms and possible expansion of its powers. A third session was scheduled.
