Commercial Tribune reports the Elkins Widener syndicate will take control of the Cincinnati Street Railway Company. The plan promises holders 1901 five percent, 1902 four and a half percent, 1903 five and a half, 1904 three and four percent, 1905 six percent, and six percent thereafter during the lease. Inter urban cars will enter Cincinnati without transfers. The consolidation is denied by Consol idated President John Kilgour.
George A. Huhn of Huhn & Co confirms the Whitney Elkins Widener syndicate trolley deal is on but declines further discussion. He says the Cincinnati despatch is substantially correct and will not elaborate.

Pittsburg January 8 The Carnegie Company plans a major expansion by establishing the largest pipe and tube manufacturing plant in Conneaut Harbor Ohio. The site will span four miles of lake frontage and cover 5 000 acres east of the harbor docks. The project includes an investment around 12 million dollars exclusive of ground and will advance the company into new manufacturing lines.
Carlisle Ky January 8 Charles Campbell aged 20 son of Newell Campbell of Clark County was thrown from his horse. His foot caught in the stirrup and he was dragged about 300 yards, fracturing his skull and badly bruising his head and body. He remains alive but unconscious.
