William Wilkerson 35 of 3136 Johnson street died at Cincinnati Branch Hospital for consumptives on Price Hill seven minutes after twelve as bells rang in the new year. Born in Cincinnati, he was a drover by trade, single, and lived with his brother Harry. After a long illness he returned to the hospital, declined, and despite expectations of a few days, endured until the midnight crossing into the new century. His sister Mrs H Vandenberg of Chicago ordered the body to Ackerman and Busch for burial.
