The Boers aimed to attack the line of communication between Koodoosberg and Einslin and were met by General MacDonald's attack. MacDonald defeated the Boer plan. Paris Feb 13 Le Journal cites Count Leontieff noting Emperor Menelik is impressed by British defeats and Abyssinians fear Britain invincible. Negus would make a demon on if Italy sent troops to Egypt.
London reports Great Britain is placing large Admiralty orders for Schwartzkopf torpedoes. The Berlin correspondent says the moves are presented as orders for Italy.
